“Almost a year ago, I met Erison Turay in the worst moments of his life,” writes @bcsolomon, a journalist with @nytvideo. The two were introduced shortly after @bcsolomon arrived in Sierra Leone to cover the #Ebola crisis. Erison and his mother survived, while 38 members of his family died from the disease. When @bcsolomon returned to #SierraLeone in May, he tracked Erison down. Refusing to live in Ebola’s shadow, the 23-year-old had started a football club for Ebola survivors. “I got to watch him in a moment of great resilience,” @bcsolomon writes. He adds: “There’s great beauty in watching one man find his way.”
