The #PurpleBlobOfTheWeek is located in the Southwest Pacific, which was generated from a complex winter storm that slowly tracked eastward from the Tasman Sea, over New Zealand, and into the Southwest Pacific. Two smaller areas of low pressure merged together east of New Zealand to form one larger/stronger storm, intensifying with wind speeds that reached up to 40-50kts. With the storm closest and aimed best at French Polynesia, an XXL size swell quickly moved into Tahiti with a peak on Wednesday the 22nd of about 14-15 feet of deepwater energy. Teahupo’o was going off. Although now on the decline, Tahiti is still very solid today. What’s next? Hawaii and the Americas, of course with a much smaller share. Check out Surfline for all the details on how this swell will impact the Aloha State and the West Coast. -- @JWarrenSurfline #SurflineForecast
