The @merufilm trailer is out. The film opens in theaters on #august14. There would be no film with out the climb - thankful to @jimmy_chin and @renan_ozturk for two fantastic expeditions. The story would be paper thin with out the vision and hard work of @mochinyc and #bobtheeditor. Making sense of what we do? Thank you @krakauernotwriting. Without the love and understanding of my family I would never embark on these adventures. #loweankerclan

We all have a person that changes your life life trajectory. This man, Mugs Stump, was that person. Climbing was his life. After he left us in '92 I picked up his dream and kept it tucked away. I didn't pursue it, rather when it came to me, I let it speak to me. '03 was the first go at the blade of granite. No success. '08 we built upon lessons learned. Just shy, yet no success. As a rule of thumb I try a peak three times. Three strikes and you're out or (hopefully) third time lucky. '11 was the third time. Going up against injury and our own self limiting expectations we set off. As if some power greater than us was helping us out, the weather was drought perfect for two weeks.
While we made the summit, a patch of snow suspended in the sky, it was the mentorship and friendship that is the true summit.
