Laurie Smolenski, 31, and Nico De Rosa, 35, walking east on the Williamsburg Bridge. On the night they met, in the summer of 2012, Nico got in an accident on his Vespa while approaching the bridge. Even in the minutes after he was hit, all he could think about was his destroyed cellphone — and how he was going to recover Laurie’s phone number. Now, three summers later, their relationship has endured ups and downs.
