“During my childhood I spent long summer afternoons sitting on my grandparents' living room floor looking through albums and boxes of old family photos,” writes @malmeidapix, a staff photographer for @ニューヨーク・タイムズ. “I never grew tired of them.” This photo, taken in Los Angeles in 1939, shows her grandfather with her mother, the baby, and her grandmother, all in their Sunday best. “I wonder if someone had just cracked a joke, but he stands steady taking his responsibility very seriously,” @malmeidapix said of her grandfather. She continued: “I was lucky to be his granddaughter and know him well into his 80s.
