24 years ago Doug Heinrich and me attempted a line left of the waterfall at the Temple of Sinewava in Zion National Park. We bailed cause we were weak. As we left, our 9mm rope got wedged in a crack. It would "knot pull". Late for work, lazy or just chicken we left it hanging, vowing to get back and finish the route. ••• The seasons turned into years and the years into decades. The rope bleached white and if you knew where to look it was visible. ••• Unfinished business has a way of lodging in the warped drawer of time. The wood gets squirrelly and one can't close the cabinet. When @davidlama_official came to visit Zion we looked at the possibilities. It was time to close this drawer. ••• The roof required a bolt ladder. I toiled away, setting ten solid bolts. While straining in my harness I thought of the late Layton Kor and his work on the south face of the Washington Column in Yosemite.
