#NatGeoTravelStories // Follow our account this weekend as @CarltonWard shares photos from Andros: 6) The Bahama oriole is critically endangered. The last of the population lives only on Andros Island, where are fewer than 300 individuals remain. They depend on coconut palm trees to build their delicate nests. Loss of palms and competition from non-native species such as the shiny cowbird have led to local extinction on other Bahamas islands. The new national park on Andros provides hope for the oriole and other endangered species to survive. @natgeocreative @ilcp_photographers @nature_org
