For any California native, the pilgrimage to Yosemite can be seen as a right of passage. For me it was the first place I can remember seeing as a youth that I was truly speechless.
I have hiked, climbed, swam, camped and road tripped to this valley and thought I had seen many sides of it. But until I explored its rivers and beaches by kayak I realized I hadn't even scratched the surface. Some of the best views truly lie on the Merced.
