Rolla-Rena Skate Center on a Friday night in Beatrice, #Nebraska. Like many rural American communities, Beatrice has suffered from the decline of manufacturing. Movie tickets here cost $6 and a recently remodeled three-bedroom home is on the market for $72,500. But this town of 12,000 has yet to lose its economic pulse, thanks in large part to its hospital.
