RUNNERS!! ? Your feet are the first contact in a chain reaction that works up into your ankles, knees, hips & back. A lot of running pain, joint wear & tear, and chronic injury can be prevented by keeping on top of your shoe game ☺️? Here's how? ▪️Every person is different, try every shoe you can & even have a jog in the store (check your stride to see if your ankle/knees roll in when you run, get a feel for the shoe etc etc) ▪️When those niggles & injuries start appearing it might be time to change shoes. Support & absorption decreases the more you run. If you run every day, you may need new shoes after 3/4 months (I use my older shoes for strength workouts/walks etc) ▪️Having 2 pairs & alternating them can increase the life of your shoes (the day or two rest in between lets the foam decompress & bounce back) ▪️Don't put your shoes in the washing machine! It damages the foam & structure ▪️Test your new shoes on a less demanding run (like today I only did 6x 200m medium paced runs with some core exercises in between). You can use this to see how your body pulls up after your run Good shoes are expensive?? But looking after your body & preventing injuries (& the cost of physios, strapping tape, doctors etc) is definitely worth it in the long run (no pun intended ?). I'm such a big believer of prevention instead of cure! ? I hope this helps fam ? Keep happy & healthy!! ? ab❤️x My running shoe at the moment (in the pic) is the @adidasau Ultra Boost. I've had these before & love them for sprints & plyometrics on grass & longer runs (up to 5km). Perfect for straight running (change in direction & agility is a bit tricky because they have a sock like outer) Otherwise they feel super light & springy!! ☺️➰ #ultraboost #running
