After ravaging Vanuatu, and sending pumping swell to Australia and fickle parts of New Zealand, Severe Tropical Cyclone Pam went extratropical to the east of NZ late last week. Over the weekend the storm merged with a frontal low in the central SPAC, setting up satellite confirmed winds in excess of 50kts and this weeks installment of the #PurpleBloboftheWeek.
