The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, not to be confused with the more famous Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile (the big one at the end of the Champs-Elysees), lies a short walk from the Louvre in Paris, and serves as a gateway to the gardens of the Tuileries. At about half the size of its iconic counterpart, L'Arc du Carroussel has a much more intimate and approachable feel to it. On its surfaces are depicted famous battles, distinguished soldiers, and historic treaty summits from the Napoleonic era. A study in short-lived glory, but a beautiful and lasting testament nonetheless. #ArcdeTriompheduCarrousel #Paris @NatGeoCreative
