While the southern hemi swell from last week’s #PurpleBlobOfTheWeek is still moving through the Americas as we speak, the attention has returned to the Northern Hemisphere for this episode. Yet another hurricane force storm has developed in the North Atlantic just S/SE of Greenland. Early this morning our forecast team received satellite confirmation that this storm was generating near 50 foot seas which puts it into a special (but not elite) category. The strongest swell from this storm will impact Iceland, Ireland and portions of the Norwegian Sea, but many other locations in Europe will also see solid WNW swell from this storm later this week and into the beginning of the weekend. Parts of France, Spain, and Portugal are also expected to see decent local wind conditions during this swell.
