The #PurpleBlobOfTheWeek is located in the North Atlantic, thanks to another strong winter storm that recently pushed off the Northeastern US. A large wind field quickly developed yesterday, boasting satellite confirmed wind speeds reaching 35­-50kts and seas upward to 30­-35 feet­ plus, aimed right at Europe and Northwest Africa. This system is expected to maintain this fetch over the next day or so, while tracking off toward the Norwegian Sea. As a result, a solid West-WNW swell will move into the westerly exposure from Iceland through Africa over the second half of this week.
