This is the last family clan still living on the land, just south of the #Arctic Ocean in #Russia. These people, who long ago migrated from eastern Europe, are quite distinct ethnically, historically and linguistically from both the Sami of Scandinavia or the more Mongoloid Nenet, further east. Together with writer #GretelEhrlich, I shot this on assignment for National Geographic Adventure and were told we were the first foreigners ever to visit or travel with them. #nomads #endangeredcultures
