You could be forgiven for thinking this is a scene straight out of a Tibetan festival in the high Himalaya. It's not. His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, was meeting with President #Obama this morning in Northwest DC and I happened to stumble upon the welcome party while waking in to center city. It was a festive scene, full of colorful dress and singing and dancing. Of course, the photographer in me starting twitching at all the beautiful dress and I had to jump right in the middle of it and start shooting. I never did get to see the man himself, as I had to run to a meeting. But for a brief moment in time I was taken back to one of my favorite places in the world, the Himalaya.
