Avalanche debris from Big Four mountain have formed the lowest altitude level glacier in the lower 48 states. It is amazing and unexpected to walk up the short trail through the forest and find this tremendous pile of ice sitting at the base of the mountain. With glaciers retreating all over the world how long can this one last?
