A baby lemon shark, about 12” in length swims in foot-deep water within a mangrove in the Bahamas. These shark pups will spend the first 2-3 years of their lives living in mangrove nurseries until they are big enough to compete in the sea. Photographed on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック and on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC in Brian Skerry’s exhibit, Portraits of Planet Ocean.
