“I feel very fortunate that I got the chance to photograph #Beyonce; she hasn't always been open to being photographed by people who aren't on her payroll, but she made an exception at Jay Z's Made in America festival in 2013. Many of my peers raged about her decision to ban photographers, but I totally understand where she was coming from. She's on top of the world – she's the closest thing to a Michael Jackson-sized superstar that this generation has – so, of course, photographers and the media will go out of their way to bring her down.
