“I went to #Metallica’s recording studio in Marin, CA to photograph #RobertTrujillo. I found this wall on the outside of the building where fans have been etching their love for the band over time. It reminded me of the Pee Chee folders in the 80’s that my junior high school classmates would darkly embellish with Metallica style fonts and lettering. Robert was a dream collaborator, offering a ton of energy and ideas to make some legendary images. It’s this quiet moment that I love best though, a humble Robert pondering a thought with the fans’ etchings adorning his frame.” As told to RS by photographer @robyntwomey
