Rare beauty… A Golden-shouldered Parrot comes in for a landing at its nest in the side of a termite mound. This amazingly colored bird is a highly endangered species with only about 300 breeding pairs remaining on earth. It is found only in the Cape York Peninsula, and makes its nest only in cavities it carves out of termite mounds.
