It's been a month since returning from #MyanmarClimb and the memories have begun to fade. Combing through thousands of images of the journey for upcoming presentations helps forgotten stories resurface in vivid detail. This photo was captured by @taylorfreesolo as I cleaned and bandaged the leg of a Tibetan porter, who had been bitten by a dog in the village of Dahonadam - the last trace of civilization before we began the 5 day walk to Hkakabo Razi Basecamp. The people who live in the jungle have no access to medical care and the nearest hospital is 200 miles away - on foot. Thanks to @adventuremedicalkits, our team was equipped to take care of ourselves, our support staff (cooks, guides, and porters), and we left the remaining medicine and supplies in the villages on our way out. It was a small contribution, a temporary bandage on a much larger issue that faces this isolated corner of the world. It is also a stark reminder of the harsh struggles encountered by much of the world everyday and forgotten by those of us fortunate enough to surround ourselves with modern conveniences. @ナショナルジオグラフィック @ザ・ノースフェイス
