A new species of poison dart frog was discovered in Panama by Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute scientists! Dr. Brian Gratwicke, Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute's Amphibian conservation biologist, who leads the Panama Amphibian Rescue and Conservation Project said, “I celebrate every discovery and description of a new species, especially creatures as beautiful as this little red gem. The ongoing challenge for conservationists is how we conserve these precious frogs and other wildlife we find.
