Of wolves and men...the question is a deep and passionate one. As much as our kinship with canines persists, the wolf is a different beast, so to speak. Making the issue more complex is the fact that we can own wolves as pets, though it requires intense training and attention. It's definitely NOT the right decision for MOST people. Rescue wolves can thrive however with the right owner. Seeing wolves and people coexist deepens the philosophical question of the wolf issue: are they a natural part of, a partner in, or an adversary of an ecosystem. Perhaps no where else on the planet is that issue more alive than in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
