Today's post from @tonibologni - Chronicle 8 of 18. I am in transit to NY and this is what my seat looks like in most flights. Now, for a little story from year 2005. We were growing rapidly and needed more space. Time to move! But this time, instead of renting, I had an audacious plan to purchase the next warehouse. This was already our 4th expansion and the plan this time was to buy really big in anticipation for the future growth so I bought a whopping 76k sq.ft building when our prior location was only 18k sq.ft. so one can imagine the ridiculousness of this ginormous warehouse. The space was so big, we were able to play soccer in there during lunch breaks. But I wasn't worried because I knew NYX was going to be a huge success beyond my wildest dream and I knew even this space was going to be too small in no time which turned out to be true. We now rent additional spaces plus additional warehouses in 3 different continents. Initially, Most people though I was crazy but I didnt even blink an eye because that's how much I believed in NYX. Now all this was possible because we had plenty cash reserve and having plenty cash reserve was possible because I was (still am to some degree) frugal for so many years. And the reason I knew I had to stay frugal was because of a very important life lesson I received in my early 20s that got stuck in my head forever and now,I want to share it with you guys. So it goes, " many people make the mistake of picking and eating the fruit at it's first harvest when they should wait, let it ripe and harvest the seed so you can plant more trees for more fruits in future". Okay,,, well,,, lol,,, dont remember the exact words but it was something like that. But I know you guys get it, right? Don't go party like a rockstar too early in your business or career. Be patient and wait a little because something bigger and better is waiting for you around the corner!!
