Our sales were heavily dependent on lipliners and lipsticks. When the trend stopped at a sudden halt and no one wore lipstick anymore....Holy crapazoid! What to do when your sales drop by 30%?? The color vanished and the world became beige. Running a business throws you lemon all the time. Key to success is figuring out how to make the best lemonade with each lemon. And there is always a silver-lining at the end if you keep your mind straight. The death of lipstick lead us to put all our focus on eye products which lead to the birth of our now legendary Jumbo Eye Pencils. JEP, especially JEP604 Milk, in later year plays the crucial role in the phenomenal success of NYX and this item would not have been born if lipsticks didn't die. See, so at the end, the 30% drop in sales which almost killed us, turned out to be the best thing ever for NYX. If you have or started or plan to start your business, never expect business to be a smooth ride. Think about the roughest roller coaster and multiply that ride by about a thousand and that will be running your business. So chill, relax and enjoy every bump and rattle because without lemons, there will not be lemonade.
