Photo @Cory Richards A camera trap captures a grizzly bear feeding on a carcass in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem , MT. Lots of cattle graze in this area every summer...those that die, whether from natural illness or predation, are all fair game for the predators that inhabit the landscape...from grizz, to wolves, to mountain lions. This particular carcass is from a culled ranch horse laid to rest near a compost dump. Despite the number of predators in the area, evolving techniques in Range Management could possibly help mitigate the conflict between ranchers and predators. When I set this camera trap up, I was hoping for wolves...but I'll take it!
