Artist Kara Walker has built a provocative shrine to sugar in Brooklyn. The abandoned Domino Sugar factory on the Williamsburg waterfront is the setting for her new installation: "A Subtlety: The Marvelous Sugar Baby, an Homage to the unpaid and overworked Artisans who have refined our Sweet tastes from the cane fields to the Kitchens of the New World." This is a small part of the show's centerpiece sculpture, a massive sphinx coated in layers and layers of powdered sugar.
