#wwbsiwishlist4thround finalist @ballerinachi about her ballet journey : My goals for the summer: this summer my goals are to work mainly on my turn out and my jumps. Since I have learned how to work better over the course of this year, I feel as if it will be easier to make more progress in a shorter amount of time. I also really hope to work on the inbetweens of my technique, the beauty of my port de bra, and more of my artistic side. I hope to work further on the Raymonda variation that I have been doing and to perfect it and compete with it next year possibly. What made me choose ballet: As I increased my weekly hours of class, I fell more and more in love with the art and just ended up wanting to be at ballet and at the studio all the time. The one time during the year we performed was during Nutcracker and each year I would count down the days until we got to perform again. Once I went to my first summer intensive, I knew I wanted to do ballet as my career because being at the studio all day was all that I wanted. After that, I explored the option of changing schools for the year. Once I found Ellison Ballet, I was set. Learning all of the various classical repertoire in such detail was another depth to which I fell in love with ballet. Each piece with such different character and new music is so exciting and I love how the different cultures are incorporated into various ballets. I love the feeling of performing and rehearsing. I also chose ballet because of the impact I get to leave on people after performing. People often come to see the ballet in order to step out of reality for a couple hours and to be taken into a story. I am the person who gets to take those people there. I just wanted to say thanks so much to all my voters for getting me this far and to worldwideballet for hosting this competition! :) Remember! 1 like = 1 vote! ??✌️ #melissachapski
