Japan’s Nuclear Power Plant Belt: Stormy sea at Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa. It is so common in winter that Fishermen often cannot work during the season. The fish industry in Noto, as well as many other parts of Japan, shrinks due to decrease of fishery resources and local populations or workers. That is one of the main reasons why Noto has nuclear reactors. The areas of Japan’s nuclear power plant belt are all located in the countryside. By covering such a reactor belt, we can see the real problems of current Japan – the drastic depopulation of the countryside and the shrinking of all industries in it, since so many young generations move to Tokyo, the capital of Japan. In these environments, the Japanese local authorities and people still support for nuclear reactors, although the majority of Japan oppose it. In addition, in this series, I will show the beauty and harshness of Japan’s nature as well as the people’s culture. Japan’s more than 50 reactors are all suspended or closed now, but the Japanese government seemingly wants to resume it. #nuclear_power_plant_belt #genpatsu_belt #noto #noto_peninsula #iphoneonly #photodocumentary
