3,000 feet up a huge, polar cliff - the northernmost big wall climb yet attempted at the time - mountaineer Greg Child pounds a piton into a thin crack that is the only route upwards. He is lit by frigid midnight sun, north of the #ArcticCircle on Canada's #BaffinIsland, and progress was so slow that the team required nearly a month to complete the route. This is an unpublished select from a story that appeared in the January 1999 issue of @ナショナルジオグラフィック Magazine.
