Photo: @randyolson (Randy Olson) - The Omo River Valley in Ethiopia. This is a Karo village called Duss. Some say "Duss is made of dust." The winds come downriver and take the powdered dry silt dust the Omo has washed here and kicks it up in the air. This dust has the consistency of drywall powder. The rising smoke in the background is from the villagers clearing land for agriculture.
