Heads of Medusa decorate the arches in the forum of Leptis Magna, Libya. This was the home town of Septimius Severus, who ruled the Roman Empire in the 2nd Century A.D.. Due to many centuries of benign neglect, Libya has some of the best preserved Roman ruins in the world, and much of it has never been excavated.
