Block out the haters like the visored bat (Sphaeronycteris toxophyllum). This frugivore can be found in parts of South America including Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Males have larger fleshy “visors” than females, and they also sport folds of skin around their necks. These skin folds can be pulled over their faces—serving as “sleep masks'' while the bats roost!
