Photo by @daisygilardini | During one of my recent expeditions to Antarctica, we decided to put the Zodiac in the water late—at 10 p.m.—despite strong winds and stormy weather. I had a feeling we could have great photo opportunities if the sky would open just a bit. As it happened, a little more than an hour later, we got just the opening I was hoping for. It was challenging to photograph, as the wind was intense, and we were all bouncing around in the little Zodiac. But the splashes of water and seasickness paid off when the sky turned orange for us.
