I want to be so honest in this post because I NEED more women to get checked if they are having painful periods! I found out I had endometriosis when I was 18. My high school years were FULL of debilitating periods every month that I was told were ‘normal’. I remember feeling relieved to have a diagnosis but also SO anxious because I had no idea at the time how common Endo was for women. I’m not going to lie…. I didn’t talk about this for SO LONG because every time I tried to tell someone they kept telling me how hard it would be for me to have kids and that made me so scared. I only started speaking about it after I had Arna. I know it’s selfish but I didn’t want to be the poster girl for fertility issues and Endometrisois. It was just too painful to even think about never being able to have kids and then having to share that with millions of women. I couldn’t do it. I stayed silent. But this is the reality for so many women. I wish I had spoken about it earlier. I wish I had used my voice earlier incase it helped someone, anyone.
