Whether it was receiving technical help, being welcomed into their training environment, sharing accommodation between competitions, or being sent personal javelins to use, it all gave me a pretty big appreciation for the Javelin Family. When you find that sense of belonging in a community you’ve always dreamed of being apart of, the feeling is hard to forget. This year, I was able to really see that sport for me, is about more than just the result. It’s about the long lasting friendships that help create memories I’ll have forever.
