Once found only from Baja California to San Francisco, the Anna’s hummingbird range has expanded north to British Columbia and east to Arizona after experiencing an increase in population. Like other hummingbirds, this species feeds on nectar, but they’re also known for consuming something else - insects! These hummers eat more insects than any other North American hummingbird, often plucking spiders and trapped insects from spider webs. Photo taken @thetoledozoo.
