Meeting with the Mi’kmaq people at the Metepenagiag Heritage Park was incredible because it was reminiscent of many parts of the nomadic world I have visited, from Mongolia to Central Asia. From their deep respect for Elders to their connection to nature as a source of food and spirituality, there is something deeply universal about the Mi’kmaq people and their ancient ways.
