Nel 2008 Anish Kapoor realizza per il Deutsche Guggenheim di Berlino “Memory". Un guscio ovoidale in acciaio Cor-Ten, lungo oltre 14 metri, frammenta lo spazio del museo, costringendo il visitatore a girargli attorno. L’artista ha parlato di “mental sculpture”: l’opera, infatti, può essere fruita solo per parti, poi ricomposte mentalmente.

In 2008, Anish Kapoor created "Memory" for the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin. A Cor-Ten steel 14-meter-long ovoid shell fragments the museum’s space, forcing the visitor to move around it. The artist referred to this work as a "mental sculpture"; indeed, this can only be experienced in parts, then reconstructed as a whole only in the mind of the spectator.
