Nel 2004 presso il Millenium Park di Chicago viene presentata “Cloud Gate”, imponente scultura in acciaio lucidato. L’opera, alta 10 metri e lunga oltre 20, si presenta come un’enorme goccia di mercurio, senza alcuna saldatura apparente. La superficie specchiante genera uno spazio nuovo, tra il vero e il verosimile, riunendo il cielo, gli edifici circostanti e tutti coloro che si muovono intorno.

In 2004, "Cloud Gate", an imposing polished steel sculpture, was publicly presented at Millennium Park in Chicago. The artwork, standing 10 meters tall and over 20 meters long, resembles a massive droplet of mercury with no apparent welds. The reflective surface creates a new space, blurring the line between reality and illusion, bringing together the sky, the surrounding buildings, and everyone walking around.

"Anish Kapoor: Untrue Unreal" will be open at Palazzo Strozzi from 7 October 2023 to 4 February 2024.
