A new exhibition by @paolopellegrin, L’orizzonte degli eventi (Event Horizon), is showing at @lestanzedellafotografia in Venice, Italy, until January 7, 2024.
Featuring more than 300 images, L’orizzonte degli eventi surveys Paolo Pellegrin’s work in the field from 1995 to 2023, documenting conflicts and the effects of climate change.
"In physics, the event horizon is the theoretical zone surrounding a black hole, a boundary beyond which even light loses its ability to escape," explains Annalisa D'Angelo, co-curator of the show alongside Denis Curti.
“In his long career as a photographer, Pellegrin has continually sought to push beyond the horizon, to enter the black hole of history, trying to overcome obstacles. And his vehicle for going beyond the horizon and ideally returning from the black hole is photography"
