I always wonder what other pairs of feet have touched the earth in special corners like this one… who else’s eyes have laid on the grandeur of the stretching canyon. How long was this land completely undisturbed before a human happened upon the sight?
Nature is special in the fact that it continues to exist and function regardless of our presence… cycling with the seasons, weather, and wildlife before we arrived and likely long after we depart. Perhaps that’s why we are constantly drawn to it… a place where control is unattainable and our presence is simply all that is required.
