In 2018, Icebreaker reached out to me about an assignment to document the Tasman Glacier located in Mount Cook National Park… to create a photo meant to represent our relationship with nature and in this case, the glacier. I felt like showing the expanse of the ice, it’s context to the mountain range, and the eventual flow into a body of water would be most impactful through a wide lense from the window of a Cessna high above. Even with the rattling of the aluminum and hum of the small engine and personal feelings of fragility, the peace & majesty of the landscape couldn’t help but leave an impression on me.
