The diverse landscape of the Pine Forest Recreation Area in northern Nevada contains rolling slopes of sagebrush, dense groups of aspen trees and clusters of rock formations. The peaks of the mountain range rise over 9,000 feet and clear and cold subalpine lakes can be found here.

This wilderness is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts with excellent recreational opportunities. Aside from being a recreational oasis, this area is home to numerous wildlife including sage grouse, mule deer, pronghorn antelope and bighorn sheep.
