I got this movie because I was at a local acting agency and agreed to do what was described as a “student film” after meeting the very cool teenage director (oh hey @unkie_mumu) I had spent the previous year or so doing extra work - “pool party gal” in Wolf Creek (still one of the greatest horror films of our generation) starring in short films like “hot, hot, heat” (no..not a porno) and “the clock struck 12”, some work was paid minimally, most was unpaid but the point is I LOVED it, I just loved learning and being on set, being an extra and closely studying performances of the lead actors. It gave me that kind of access to see real working, successful actors soaring and I got to be surrounded by and observing my dream in action (very useful for manifesting!)⁣ ⁣ By the time it was my turn to be in my first feature (2:37) I was so ready for it, yet still so very very green. Since that movie I have learnt so much, every job I go deeper and strive to uplevel. I love when the task of performing is both exciting and terrifying. That’s the sweet spot in my opinion, where you can stumble, fall and find something magic in the wobbles. All this to say if you’re in the longing/hustling/fighting for it stage right now, keep going. Keep focused on that dream, it’s attainable. You never know when something is going to hit when you least expect it, and that little local “student film” I did when I was 18? It premiered to a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival. #dreamswork ⁣ Adelaide; I’ve partnered with a longtime friend/epic legend- the revered and award winning casting director Angela Heesom (Mortal Kombat, Wolf Creek) It feels like coming full circle getting to collaborate with her. My fallback plan out of high school if acting didn’t work out was to be a drama teacher and Ange and I have put our heads together to figure out the inner workings of a 2 day Actors Intensive workshop, specifically focused on auditioning. We have very limited spots due to location but the applicants so far have been extraordinary, for more info on how to sign up head to @heesomcasting ❤️❤️」8月23日 20時47分 - teresapalmer
