Nikon Australiaさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Nikon AustraliaInstagram)「Capturing a subject in interesting ways is nothing new for @karenwallerphotography in this gorgeous series using the Z 7II and an ICM technique. "This series of images are all single exposures captured in camera using the camera hand held. The technique used is referred to as ICM or Intentional Camera Movement, where the camera is moved during the exposure. This requires using longer exposures to allow for the capture of the movement in the image. In this series of images, the exposures vary from 1/6th through to 3 seconds duration. The movement captured will be determined by a number of factors including speed and direction of the camera, and the duration of the shutter speed. I use both available light and studio light in the creation of these images and it depends on the subject and the location. This is determined by whether it is in a garden or can be set up in a studio. I enjoy using the studio light as I can achieve longer shutter speeds and the flash gives good delineation of the subject at the beginning of the exposure. If on location, it is preferable to shoot early or late in the day or when it is overcast so that longer exposures can be achieved. The other option is to use ND filters to allow for longer exposures. I really enjoy the process of essentially painting with light, hoping to capture something akin to the spirit of the subject and to present familiar subjects in new ways to the audience. I have been experimenting with this technique for a few years with a variety of subjects and really enjoy the botanical theme as I am drawn to the form and colours within nature. In the development of my technique, I have also refined my editing methods to enhance the images using post-production tools including Lightroom and Photoshop."
