The 1976 Olympic Games in Montréal by @rdepardon 🤸
In 1976, Raymond Depardon photographed Olympic history, as Romanian gymnast Nadia Comãneci performed the routine that would gain her one of her seven perfect 10 scores. Prior to this, a perfect 10 was not thought to be attainable, and the scoreboards at the time were not programmed to display the number.
Contact sheets, whereby sequences of negatives are printed directly onto paper, have long served as an integral tool for photographers to assess their work. This contact sheet print depicts the historic moments Depardon captured at the Montréal Olympic Games, granting us valuable insight into his photographic process.
