Photo by @daisygilardini | The Galápagos Islands are a paradise for wildlife photographers. The volcanic archipelago is among the world's richest marine ecosystems. One of the many species that inhabit the islands is the Sally Lightfoot crab, which certainly stands out against the black lava rock. Some people say that the unusual name comes from a famed Caribbean dancer, because of the crabs’ agile leaping and jumping and their ability to run rapidly in all four directions—though not at the same time! Lack of camouflage does not affect Sally Lightfoot crabs, as their agility helps them escape most predators.
