Thank you @jayaaywhy @ladyburns and Camille for the invite for the final performance of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte by the genius Simon McBurney at the closing night of the season of @metopera! It was truly magical.
I got to see Simon’s Shunkin (春琴) which in its insane ingenious way, combine “Shunkinsho” which is a fiction and “In Praise of Shadow” (陰翳礼讃) which is an essay years ago thanks again to Ajay and Heather then, and I still talk about that play to this day, and I got to meet Mrs Eri Fukatsu (深津絵里) who was excellent in it at the dinner afterwords. Ajay was in multiple plays by Mr. McBurney with @complicitetheatre inclining The Master and Margarita which I would love to see someday.
What an incredible talent Mr. McBurney is and how magnificent everyone involved in this production are. Congrats!
(Also, I met Paul Rhys here tonight who was really lovely.)
